Prayer Guide - Intro

Every time we pray for the nation of Nigeria, unless we are divinely directed otherwise, there are two intercessory issues we need to settle with God namely:-

(i) We need to praise, worship and offer Him thanksgiving for who He is, His loving kindness and tender mercies and for great and awesome things He has done and is doing for us as a nation.

God has been very good to Nigeria as a nation - large deposits of crude oil; natural gas, good weather and climate, good soil, abundant minerals, large land size, intellectual gift for Nigerians, spiritual gifts abundantly in the Nigerian church, good vegetation, Godly people who fear Him, gifted and holy living ministers and believers etc.

(ii) We need to ask God for forgiveness of personal sins, the sins of the church and the corporate sins of Nigeria, asking for His mercy and cleansing by the blood of Jesus because it is our sins that separate us from God Is 59:2.

Sins we need to repent of including lying , cheating, injustice, bribery, corruption, idolatry, occultism, bloodshed, disunity, tribalism, stealing, embezzlement, oppression of the poor, unfaithfulness, immorality, nepotism, prayerlessness, witchcraft, selfishness, deception, ungodliness, ritual kidnapping, laziness, ritual killing, thuggery, lawlessness, broken covenant etc.
